RWTH Aachen University offers the degree program “Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Gymnasium and Gesamtschule Teacher”. This course of study is ideal for prospective students who wish to become teachers in comprehensive and secondary schools. The program is with a duration of six semesters. Similar to the Bachelor degree of the same name for vocational school teachers, this study course offers nearly the same degree content. Here students will focus also on the technical aspect of Mathematics with courses like Mathematic Propaedeutic, Analysis, Stochastics and others. Furthermore, students will also take two teaching-specific courses: Linear Algebra Consolidation and Application and Modeling for Teachers. Throughout the last semesters of their studies, participants will expand and advanced their knowledge and skills even more by taking a course on numerical calculations and an internship dealing with the Computer Algebra System MAPLE.
