The degree program “Master of Education in Mathematics, Gymnasium and Gesamtschule Teacher’’ is a four-semester course of study offered by RWTH Aachen University. Specifically designed for students who wish to deepen their knowledge in teacher training this program is ideal for individuals who wish to pursue a career as teacher in comprehensive and secondary schools. The degree content in the Master’s course features combination possibilities that are identical to those in the Bachelor’s degree of the same name. In addition to the two subjects, students will also explore other educational studies and a practical semester. During the first year of their studies, the degree content features a subject-didactic, preparatory semester, and a practical semester. The latter will take place in a school and will also require students to take a seminar on diagnosis, support, and evaluation. In addition to this, students will also take a mandatory course in Applied Statistics and an elective course that can be chosen from Computer Algebra, Ordinary Differential Equations, Optimization A, Optimization B, and Complex Analysis.
