The six-semester degree program “Bachelor in Science in Mathematics, Vocational School Teacher” is offered by RWTH Aachen University. This full-time course of study is geared towards prospective students who want to become teachers at vocational schools. Since this is a teacher training program the focus here falls mainly on a solid technical foundation. In the first semester of their studies, participants will explore the fundamentals of Mathematics with course such as Linear Algebra, Mathematic Propaedeutic, Analysis, and Stochastics. In the third semester more teaching-specific courses will be added to the curriculum. From the fourth semester onwards, students will have the chance to expand their subject-specific knowledge by taking courses on numerical calculations and teaching methodology that deals with different aspects of learning and teaching the subject of mathematics.
