“Bachelor of Science in Physics, Gymnasium and Gesamtschule Teacher’’ is a degree program offered at RWTH Aachen University that is geared towards prospective students who want to become teachers in comprehensive and secondary schools. This is a full-time course of study with a duration of six semesters. Since this is a teacher training program its curriculum comprises of lectures, tutorials, introductory courses in physics pedagogy, as well as physical internships. In the first and second semesters of the study, participants will be introduced to basic mathematical methods. The fourth and fifth semesters, students will be offered the course “Theoretical Physics for Teacher Training Students’’. In addition, during the first, third and sixth semesters, a practical component is present that allows students to gain certain experimental skills.
