The new international degree program “Master of Science in Physics” is offered at RWTH Aachen University. This full-time course of study with a duration of four semesters is taught in English. By enrolling in this program, participants will have the chance to choose between a research-oriented course in Particle and Astroparticle Physics or an experimental of theoretical one in Condensed Matter Physics. Their choice is further supplemented by the rich variety of Master’s courses offered by the eleven research institutes that form the physics department in RWTH. During the first year of their studies, participants will take lectures, seminar and lab courses with several mandatory and elective courses. In the second year, students will focus all of their time on working on an individual research project. For optimal flexibility, the course is organized in six tracks: Experimental Particle Physics, Astroparticle Physics and Cosmology, Quantum Field Theory and Gauge Theories, Experiemntal Condensed Matter Physics, Nanoelectronics, Quantum Technology, and Condensed Matter Theory. Students can select courses from each of these tracks.
