RWTH Aachen University offers the six-semester degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Focus on Technology’’. What makes this program different is that it intertwines social action with technologies and techniques. Thus future sociologists can explore the consequences of the socio-technological delevopment and learn how to address the issues and problems that might arise from this phenomenon. This is achieved through the interdisciplinary nature of the course that offers students the chance to obtain knowledge in fields of Psychology, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or Ethics. In addition to the theoretical training, participants will also develop practical skills through an internship provided during their studies. Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree in this discipline can either continue their studies and prsue a Master’s degree in Sociology or other interdisciplinary programs. As technology-focused sociologists, graduates can also seek career opportunities in market research, public relations, technical consulting, and more.
