The degree program “Master of Education in Structural Engineering, Vocational School Teacher’’ offered by RWTH Aachen University is a four-semester full-time course of studies that provides advanced studies in structural engineering. Students who enrol in this course will deepen their knowledge and strengthen their practical skills in selected fields of technology and engineering. The program components of the Master’s degree course are identical to those of the Bachelor’s program in that they also combine two subjects. Some other elements that are included in this variant are advanced studies in structural engineering, pedagogy of structural engineering, educational studies, and a practical semester. The latter will allow students to apply their technical knowledge and pedagogical skills in a classroom as they will get the chance to spend their practical semester at a school.
