“Master of Science in Technical Communication’’ is a four-semester degree program offered at RWTH Aachen University. As an interdisciplinary course, this program combines liberal arts with an engineering education and training. Furthermore, students can choose two equally weighted subjects. One of them must be Communication studies, whereas the second one can be selected between Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. This course is also research-oriented, which means that students will learn how to analyze major subject-area problems, design solutions for them and apply them based on theories and methods. Graduates of this course will become qualified transfer specialist for technical facts and therefore should be able to create highly complex technical content for various target groups, media and applications. In addition, they can search for career opportunities in areas like corporate communication and PR, software development, ergonomics, media management, and others.
