Description
The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology” is offered by the Saarland University. The main subject of the course explores the archeology of Europe along with the entire material legacy of prehistoric and early historical cultures as well as the Greeks and Romans of classical antiquity. The aim is to research early social structures and developments, political systems, religions and life worlds of the early Europeans by also providing to the participants the understanding of cultural, social and political processes in the past. During their study, the graduates will be able to acquire detailed knowledge of the central monuments and object groups of Greek and Roman culture in the genres of architecture, sculpture and ceramics. By including special digital methods both in the field of landscape and site-related archeology as well as in object and image science the participants learn the traditional archaeological methods for the documentation, classification and presentation of monuments and objects.
