“Master of Science in Chemistry” is provided by the Saarland University with a duration of four semesters. The program provides the students with strong and comprehensive overview of the entire spectrum of chemical compounds, their synthesis and properties in order to gain specific knowledge and skills to develop innovative solutions for challenging chemical problems. By offering the opportunity to become acquainted with the content and methodologies of neighboring scientific disciplines, the course professionally prepares graduates for careers in industry, research institutions and public bodies while also teaching the necessary skills to pursue a doctoral research program and a career in academia. During the course, the participants form an understanding of main group chemistry concepts in synthesis, structural and spectroscopic, learn the characterization and trends in the properties of main group element compounds, gain in-depth knowledge of the material chemistry of main group elements and acquire knowledge of the importance of inorganic, especially metallic, elements in biological systems and processes.
