Provided by the Saarland University the program “Bachelor of Arts in European Studies: Comparative Literature” is with a duration of six semesters. The interdisciplinary course offers further insights into overlapping aspects of history, politics, law, economics, languages and geography in order to broaden and deepen the knowledge of these subjects in order to apply their specialist knowledge to European contexts and critically reflect upon these topics by also including a compulsory study abroad period and a work placement or internship during which students address issues of European relevance. During their study, students analyze and interpret literatures, films, theatres and other forms of art and place them in intellectual-historical and socio-political contexts in order to acquire a broad literary and media competence.
