The study course “Bachelor of Arts in Historical Studies” is provided by the Saarland University. The aim of the bachelor degree is to impart fundamental specialist knowledge of the methods and working techniques used for the critical analysis of sources and research texts by also including all three major epochs from ancient history through the history of the Middle Ages to the history of the modern age. The thematic historical sub-subjects economic and social history as well as cultural and media history are assigned to the respective major epochs while the course prepares students for a wide range of professions in science, business, administration and society. The graduates obtain key qualifications for a variety of professions in archiving, library and publishing, in media and documentation, museums, in public, cultural work and more.
