The study course “Bachelor of Arts in Latin Philology” is offered by the Saarland University. The students expand their experience with the methodology of the subject and the systematic of Greco-Roman verse art along with topics from Roman literary and intellectual history, the Greek forerunners and the reception in European literature, authors, genres or epochs. During the course, the participants attend reading exercises in order to improve the ability to read and understand Latin texts fluently and to reproduce them in their own language while the degree program imparts knowledge and skills in linguistic areas such as in morphology, syntax, grammar as well as in literary studies, genre, ancient literary theory, metrics, linguistic styles, source research and more.
