The degree program “Master of Science in Physics” is with a duration of four semesters provided by the Saarland University. It provides modules with an experimental and a theoretical focus while also obtaining deep insight into the content and methodologies of related disciplines. The research-focused program is geared towards the field of theoretical physics, students are initially taught advanced elements of quantum mechanics and statistical physics while during lab courses and work in the departmental research groups enables the students to practice and apply the methods of modern physics. Participants obtain in-depth knowledge in the sub-areas of quantum mechanics and static physics with application of modern experimental methods in research internships and current projects of experimentally oriented working groups.
