The study course “Master of Arts in Religion in Europe” is offered by the Saarland University with a duration of four semesters. It deals with Christianity and Islam, Judaism while the students also learn smaller religious communities such as European forms of Buddhism or modern esotericism and learn to classify them in cultural-oriented context while the interdisciplinary course uses the classical methods of theology and religious studies. By also exploring the content from a philosophical, social, cultural and literary perspective in order to teach the participants how to analyze and interpret religion in the interaction with societies and cultural areas in Europe the course imparts subjects of basics of religious history, European Christianity, Judaism and Islam in Europe, comparative history of religion, Religious pluralism, interreligious dialogue, religion, culture, society and more.
