Provided by the Sankt Georgen Graduate School of Philosophy and Theology in cooperation with Christian-Islamic Meeting and Documentation Center, the two-year study or extra-occupational certificate course "Islam and Christian-Muslim Encounters" aims to provide a scientifically sound and in-depth introduction to the fundamentals of the Islamic religion as well as theological and social issues of Christian-Islamic dialogue. During the course, the prospective students explore the introduction to central basic concepts of Islam, the Koran and the biography of Muhammad, central themes of Islamic theology and their historical context, basics of Christian-Islamic relations with reflecting on practical experience in meeting Muslims and the relationship between the Bible and the Koran, Biblical Figures in the Koran.
