The “Bachelor of Arts in Economics” program at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences is with a length of 7 full-time semesters. The main aim of the course is to teach students how to use models to understand the development of macroeconomic variables such as unemployment, inflation or exchange rates. The course curriculum contains a number of essential subjects like basics of marketing, finance and investment, production and business management, microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic policy, accounting and more. In order to be admitted, candidates must present a general university entrance qualification, subject-specific university entrance qualification or technical college entrance qualification. Some of the areas graduates are able to work in include taxation, marketing, finance, accounting, information technology and more.
