The distance learning program “Health Economist” at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences is with a length of 2 part-time semesters. The aim of the course is to provide in-depth management knowledge relevant to the health industry so that graduates can continue to be successful as specialists or managers against the background of current changes in the health system. Economics and business administration including marketing, Social law and contract doctor law, Management basics in healthcare, Basics of health economics and health policy and other topics are covered in the course content. Candidates must present a university degree or a comparable degree at a vocational academy as well as at least one year of professional experience in the healthcare sector.
