The distance learning program “Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering and Management” at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences has a length of 5 part-time semesters. The course is intended for students with previous experience in the field, who will be able to gain further qualifications in mechanical engineering and specialize in the areas of product development or production technology. Machine tools, Innovative joining techniques and manufacturing processes, Automation technology, Material selection and lightweight construction, Business law and occupational safety, Business administration, Quality management, Product data management and other subjects are part of the course curriculum. Admission requirements include a completed technical university or vocational college degree as well as relevant professional experience of at least one year or a completed non-technical university or vocational college degree as well as relevant professional experience of at least five years and the successful completion of a written admission test.
