The further training program “Technician for Renewable Energies and Renewable Raw Materials” for specialists in the energy sector at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences is with a length of 2 part-time semesters. The program equips students with skills in planning, developing and operating systems for sustainable energy generation and use. Basics of the energy industry, Solar technology and applications, Biomass, biogas and biopolymers, Wind power technologies and other subjects are part of the course content. Admission requirements include the completion of a university degree or a comparable degree at a state or state-recognized professional academy and at least one year of professional experience in an area conducive to further training.
