Description
Offered by the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart the study course “Bachelor of Music in Harpsichord” is with a total length of eight semesters that provides strong pedagogical, methodological and scientific skills. The prospective students develop advanced playing techniques along with performance practice based on chamber music and knowledge of literature from different epochs and styles. The bachelor degree provides the necessary knowledge of working techniques and methods of musicological work as well as the various sub-areas of musicology while exploring the insights into recent trends in research for instance cultural and institutional history, gender studies, regional research as well as systematic musicology. During their study, graduates learn about the basics of counterpoint, harmonic analysis, including modulation, demonstrated by typesetting exercises in the late baroque and classical styles and obtain knowledge of the essential forms of Baroque, Viennese Classic and Romanticism.
