With a duration of eight semesters, the degree program “Bachelor of Music in Church Music” is offered by the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. The bachelor degree consists of modules in singing, piano, music theory, rudiments of composition, study of harmony, counterpoint, instrumentation, musicology, aural training, thorough bass, score playing, organ building and children’s choir practice. The focus of the course falls on the artistic fields of study, the oratorio conducting module and analysis while the prospective students have the opportunity to select their desired main focus from a wide range of optional modules.
