“Bachelor of Music in Guitar” is offered by the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with a duration of eight semesters. The degree program is developing and consolidating advanced aspects of guitar technique, enhances the comprehension in guitar literature in particular fields of instrumental technique, understanding of form, ability to express including etudes and works of solo literature while the students master the different types of tablature. Students obtain basic knowledge of the history of instrumental teaching, in music psychological development, psychology and gain strong teaching methods along with professional practice. The bachelor degree teaches about the development of the lute, theorbo, chitarrone, baroque guitar, Biedermeier guitar while taking into account the respective historical and sociological context and the development history of the notation and outstanding compositions of the respective epoch.
