The four-semester study course “Master of Music in Jazz/Jazz Composition” is offered by the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. The curriculum of the program successfully enables the students to deepen the studies of their main instruments and to master ensembles in advanced high levels of playing while obtaining basic knowledge of professional fields, placement strategies and marketing techniques in the field of jazz and pop music with project, self and ensemble management. During their study, the graduates obtain the ability for independent and versatile composing with comprehensive competence in aesthetic and instrumental questions. The prospective students learn to play together in ensembles of different cast with regard to style and phrasing and acquire the extensive experience in teamwork and creative interaction with professionalization of stage presence through regular appearances.
