“Master of Music in Lied” is provided by the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with a total duration of four semesters. The program is primarily oriented towards the achievement of further artistic development while providing an extension of specific vocal or piano interpretative abilities in the field of art song. The students obtain the ability to perform parts in vocal ensemble pieces in different ensembles based on works from different epochs and learn about the harmonization of melodies with knowledge of style-related improvisation through different epochs as well as free improvisation. The degree program includes coaching lessons and coaching practice where the participants master their experience in the field of music theater as well as in song and instrumental literature and obtain comprehension for didactic differentiation in working with singers, instrumentalists and ensembles as well as playing under the direction of a conductor and playing the piano in an orchestra.
