Description
By definition, Architecture is the process of designing and constructing buildings and other structures. Architects often carry out complex and lengthy operations in terms of planning, drawing, building models, following construction plans and overseeing the progress of the design, so studying Architecture can be very difficult, but also rewarding. Many architectural works are often considered works of art and cultural monuments. There is a number of subjects that Architecture university programs teach, such as Basic Design, Visualization, Materials and Systems, History of Architecture, Technical Infrastructure, Structural Design, Building Physics, Building Material Science, Construction Management and others. Other topics Architecture students can engage in also include renovation of existing buildings, energy-efficient construction and computer-aided design. Practical experience is key in Architecture degrees, because it helps students apply theoretical knowledge and develop transferable professional skills, like creativity, adaptability, problem solving, design, comprehension of building laws and principles, budgeting, communication, critical assessment, project coordination and innovation. Potential career paths for Architecture graduates include architect, architectural technologist, building supervisor, production designer, structural engineer, interior designer, historical building inspector and many more.
