The state examination program “Food Chemistry Staatsexamen” offered by the Technical University of Berlin provides a full-time course with a duration of nine semesters. The program will develop students as experts in food ingredients and nutritional supplements by giving them in-depth chemical and biochemical knowledge. Some of the main modules taught are biology, chemistry, physiology, microbiology and others. Furthermore, students are required to complete one practical year during the program in order to gain practical experience in the field. After completing the program graduates will become state-certified food chemists and will be able to start their careers in food control, laboratories, food industries and others.
