The seven-semester program “Bachelor of Arts in Applied Literary and Cultural Studies” is offered by the Technical University of Dortmund. The focus of the program falls on the interdisciplinary and intercultural questions. By integrating an internship, as well as a semester abroad students have the opportunity to participate in both intercultural and interdisciplinary-oriented study projects. In order to teach how to professionally write, examine literary as well as cultural texts from a scientific perspective, the course imparts core subjects focused towards the various types of texts and cultural theory. Furthermore, students examine historical, gender-specific and political topics in literary and cultural studies context.
