“Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Urban Design” is a six-semester study course offered by the Technical University of Dortmund. Throughout the program, students learn the fundamentals of architectural representation, drafting as well as design while obtaining strong social and team work skills. The course explores the craft processing methods of building materials and their respective material properties, work sequences and operational functional relationships in the individual trades as well as construction execution and processes on the construction site in interaction with all other trades. By focusing also on spatial thinking, both in the imagination as well as the pictorial conversion students are able to acquire knowledge in parallel projections, axonometries, perspectives in freehand drawing, drawing analysis of spatial structures and drawing as a design methodology.
