Offered by the Technical University of Dortmund the degree program “Bachelor of Arts for teacher training in Art (General Schools, Intermediate Schools and Comprehensive Schools)” is with a duration of six semesters. The focus of the course falls on three concentrations. These include artistic work, art history/image science and art didactics. During their study, participants are enabled to achieve the capability to both plan and carry art lessons in a school-specific manner. The degree program also includes workshops and research rooms. Furthermore, graduates are encouraged to pursue a Master’s degree in teaching. In addition, students in the university have the opportunity to continue with an interdisciplinary, research-oriented Master’s program besides the teaching Bachelor’s degree.
