The six-semester program “Bachelor of Science in Business Mathematics” is offered by the Technical University of Dortmund. Conveying basic mathematical content and methods in linear algebra, analysis and computer science the course also includes elements of stochastic, optimization, numeric and business operations, economics and various business mathematical and economic fields. Furthermore, participants obtain knowledge of the basic concepts and methods of combinatorial geometry, learn to master the language of linear algebra of projective spaces, investigate and describe geometric objects and phenomena while learning to classify the difficulty of optimization problems and to develop appropriate solutions. The bachelor degree teaches how to recognize the structure of geometric optimization problems and evolution equationsand to apply suitable methods for analytical understanding and numerical simulation, examine mathematical models for well-definition, accuracy and stability.
