With a duration of six semesters the study course “Bachelor of Arts for Teacher Training in Catholic Theology (General Schools, Intermediate Schools and Comprehensive Schools)” is provided by the Technical University of Dortmund. The program aims to prepare students for their future career of teaching Catholic religious education in schools. Participants of this course are taught specifically scientific knowledge with subject-specific didactic aspects, learn to reflect and discuss in theological terms. Furthermore, the program intends to provide competence in order to be able to generate academically valuable issues and reflect in a scientific-oriented manner. Students deal with texts, contexts, and traditional forms and formulas of theology with methods, arguments and solid comprehension.
