With a duration of four semesters the study course “Master of Arts in Cultural Analysis and Cultural Intermediation” is provided by the Technical University of Dortmund. During the compulsory part of the program, students are able to study together courses in cultural anthropology of fashion and cultural anthropology of textiles and have the opportunity to select between art history, visual studies or musicology. The course aims to provide an overview of culture as a holistic constellation and to teach participants to understand its complexity. The focus falls on the historically well-founded analysis of non-linguistically generated manifestations of culture in the field of tension between high culture and everyday life. A particular emphasis is placed upon a high proportion of self-study for academic reading and research as well as excursions.
