The “Bachelor of Arts for Teacher Training in Educational Sciences (Special Education)” is offered by the Technical University of Dortmund with a length of six semesters. An obligatory part of the curriculum is two core modules that concentrate on the main subject areas of educational science as well as school pedagogy. By imparting the essential subjects, students receive an introduction to the basic historical and theoretical viewpoints. This also includes the general school didactics. The program is geared towards providing an insight into the educational systems along with their essential underlying structures. The latter, involve rehabilitation sciences, sociology, psychology and vocational education.
