The six-semester degree program “Bachelor of Arts for Teacher Training in Music (Grammar Schools and Comprehensive Schools)” is provided by the Technical University of Dortmund. Participants educate themselves in four areas. They are specifically parted into instrumental and vocal practice, music theory, composition/setting and arrangement, musicology (historical and systematic), music pedagogy or didactics of music. Curricular structured, the Bachelor's degree aims to lead to a Master's degree in teaching. In conjunction with the successful completion of the teacher traineeship, is the prerequisite for taking up the teaching profession.
