Offered by the Technical University of Dortmund the degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Music Journalism and Music Education" is with a length of six semesters. An integral part of this courseis internships lasting several months in journalistic editorial offices or music-related institutions such as opera and concert halls. By interlinking theory and practice, students acquire technical and methodical skills in order to be able to critically question and explore media in relation to music culture. During their study, participants analyze products from historical, gender-related and contemporary perspectives in the frame­work of tutorials dedicated to journalism and musicology. Furthermore, the course expands team-work abilities while teaching how to deal with criticism, how to work under pressure while keeping to tight deadlines and more.
