With a duration of six semesters the program “Bachelor of Arts in Sociology” is offered by the Technical University of Dortmund. The course imparts strong competence in both qualitative-interpretative as well as quantitative research methods and provides general sociological skills in the areas of sociological thinking, theories along with social structure. With a focus on six central fields of social change, students have the opportunity to select two of them while the sociological thinking as well as theoretical approaches is taught specifically in connection with these fields. Courses on professional fields and key qualifications, writing workshops, language courses and the option of tutoring provide additional qualifications for professional practice.
