“Bachelor of Arts for Teacher Training in Language (Special Education)” is with a length of six semesters provided by the Technical University of Dortmund. The course is aimed at the specific educational support needs of children and adolescents. It particularly addresses the disabilities of language and communication abilities. By providing an overview of language acquisition, the program dives into the possible evidence-based support concepts, diagnostic procedures as well as language therapy. Students are taught to apply the concepts to the various subject didactics. In order to be able to start the preparatory service, graduates are obligated to complete the Master’s degree.
