With a length of six semesters the program “Bachelor of Arts for Teacher Training in Educational Sciences (Primary School)” is offered by the Technical University of Dortmund. In addition to educational science as the core discipline, this course includes disciplines that deal with educational and upbringing processes, educational systems and their framework conditions. The disciplines are specifically psychology, sociology, rehabilitation sciences and vocational education and participants learn to reflect on, plan and organize school development, social debates about education and teaching and learning processes. The course teaches how to assess and evaluate these processes on the basis of scientific findings while imparting basic knowledge of educational science and general didactics with fundamentals of theory.
