The practice-oriented program “Bachelor of Engineering in Geotechnical Engineering and Applied Geology, Civil and Environmental Geotechnics” offered by TH Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences provides an education in the fundaments of general engineering and in the areas of geotechnics, applied geology, environmental geotechnics and civil engineering. The course of studies is organized in small groups, ensuring personal atmosphere. Furthermore, external professionals are guest lecturers, and bring their daily work experience to the students. The basis subjects are in the engineering, natural science and technical field, such as mathematics, geology, statistics, standard software geotechnics and etc. Moreover, students attend more specific subjects, for example sampling, drilling technology and soil and rock mechanics. The course material in enhanced by various subject areas such as safety and health coordination, but also technical English, basic business administration, leadership and etc. Graduates of the program have a broad spectrum of job fields such as construction, water and waste management, acquisition and consulting, etc.
