Description
The study program “Bachelor of Science in Biophysics” at the University of Kaiserslautern prepares students interested in physics and planning to enter biotechnology positions in industry and government. The course of studies combines the content of a physics degree program with the opportunity to acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of biology, with undergraduates using this foundation to deepen and extend their interests in more specialist fields. Participants will gain a valuable grounding in the quantitative methods of biology, chemistry and physics and use them to understand the structure and complexity of the biological world. The course of studies provides students with the subject-related knowledge, skills and methods they will require to be capable of scientific work, scientifically-based judgement, critical reflection on scientific results and responsible actions in the working world. This applies to qualification for a Master’s degree on the one hand, and to professional qualification in relevant occupations on the other. Graduates have a qualification to work in a range of fields, including medicine, criminology, pharmacology, ecology, agriculture, or the food industry.
