Description
The degree program “Master of Science in Food Chemistry” at the University of Kaiserslautern conveys students theoretical and practical knowledge relating to chemistry and chemical analysis of food. During the degree program, participants will expand their existing set of methods for instrumental, biochemical, microbiological, and molecular biological analysis. In addition, students will deepen their knowledge of the make-up of raw materials, food, and feed as well as food contact materials, and learn more about the reactions of the respective ingredients during production, storage, and use. The main goal of the degree program is to teach them proper handling of scientific methods, and give participants the appropriate knowledge and skills so that they will be able to apply them while building professional careers. Graduates of the degree program will be qualified to take on jobs in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry. Apart from that, students can also apply their acquired skills and knowledge within the context of a career in cosmetics and the consumer goods industry.
