The University of Applied Arts Vienna, founded in 1867, is a public art school seated in Vienna. It currently has a total of almost 1,700 students. The University’s study offer ranges from Diploma, Bachelor and Master programs, through doctoral programs, to postgraduate programs. On offer are the study programs “Architecture“ (M.Arch./Mag.arch.), “Fine Arts“ (Mag.art.), “Stage Design“ (Mag.art.), “Cross-Disciplinary Studies“ (B.CDS), “Design“ (Mag.art.), “Industrial Design“ (Mag.des.ind.), “Conservation and Restoration“ (Mag.art.), “Art Education“ (B.A./M.A.), “Media Arts“ (Mag.art.), “Social Design – Arts as Urban Innovation“ (M.A.), “Language Arts“ (B.A.), and “TransArts“ (B.A./M.A.). Doctorates can be pursued in Natural Sciences, Philosophy, Technical Sciences, and Artistic Research. In addition, the University of Applied Arts Vienna offers the postgraduate courses “Art & Economy“ and “ecm – education/curating/managing“.
