Description
.The six-semester interdisciplinary study program “Bachelor of Science in Conservation and Restoration” offered by University of Applied Sciences and Arts in its location in Hildesheim provides students with a very interesting course of study. They work with a variety of historical and creative production processes and their various materials. Furthermore, participants learn about the environment`s influence and how it affects aging and damage. Expanding on this, they will learn about damage avoidance and conservation and restoration of original artefacts. Students have the option of four fields, in which they can gain expertise – conservation and restoration of “paintings and polychrome wooden objects”, “furniture, wooden objects and material combinations”, “records, books and graphics”, and “stone objects and architectural surfaces”. Graduates of the program are qualified to work in restoration workshops or take up a Master`s degree in the area.
