The four-semester study program “Master of Arts in Social Work in a Social-Spatial Context” offered by University of Applied Sciences and Arts in its location in Holzminden examines the socio-spatial framework in which people realize their potential, build social networks, and address social issues that occur in today`s world. The program put a specific focus on social space. Some of the topics which are addressed through the course of study are analysis of social space, media, planning and concept development and etc. Distinguishing features of the program are its practical orientation, the possibility of taking the program part-time while working, and the flexibility – a big part of the content can be obtained online. There are only few lectures in the university, on the weekends. Graduates are prepared tot take up managerial positions in the higher civil service.
