The seven-semester study program “Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in Health Care” offered by University of Applied Sciences and Arts in its location in Göttingen provides a thorough education in the field of social work. Besides the theoretical part, there is a lot of practice incorporated. Students learn to deal with clients and their families in the multiplex healthcare system. The curriculum focuses on two things mainly – individual casework and community work. There is also an internship semester, after which students receive state recognition as social workers. Graduates have a variety of job opportunities, such as working in municipalities, health insurance companies, and etc.
