The four-semester study program “Master of Science in Urban Tree and Forest Management” offered by University of Applied Sciences and Arts in its location in Göttingen provides students with an education on how to detect various interest in urban forests and incorporate into the decision-making processes. Students will get extensive knowledge in the fields of urban silviculture, ecosystem services of urban forests, human resources management, etc. This is the only such program in Germany. The course of study emphasizes the increasingly essential areas of responsibility in urban forests. The classes are arranged in small groups and the instruction is very practice-oriented. Graduates are active as forest office or green space office managers.
