Description
Landscape Architecture is a subfield of Architecture that focuses on the design and construction of outdoor areas, landmarks and structures. It can generally be said that landscape architects form the outdoor environment. In recent years, it has become even more important to use materials efficiently and adopt environmentally-friendly concepts, so students in Landscape Architecture have the chance to learn about that and how to achieve the best outcomes. Landscape Architecture degree courses teach a number of subjects, which most commonly include Physical Geography, Graphics, Landscape Architecture Design Studio, History of Landscape Architecture, Soil Science, Digital Design, Design Implementation, Principles of Plant Biology, Environmental Analysis and others. Students in Landscape Architecture have the opportunity to gain knowledge of how to analyze their surroundings, plan designs, implement ideas and efficiently use resources, as well as develop valuable practical skills through internships and work placements, such as excellent communication and negotiation skills, creative ability, observation skills, detailed eye and critical thinking. Landscape Architecture graduates can enjoy a variety of career prospects – city planner, urban developer, landscape architect, real estate developer, environmental consultant and garden designer, to name a few.
