The University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank, founded in 1976, is a public university that serves as a training facility for those seeking a professional career in the upper intermediate service of the German Central Bank and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority. The University is located at Hachenburg Castle, Rhineland Palatinate. It offers the dual Bachelor study program “Central Banking“, leading to a B.Sc. degree. The study program, which lasts as many as 36 months, is divided into eleven study sections that alternate between theoretical and practical modules on a permanent basis. The overall course of study is geared towards providing knowledge relating to law and economics in the fields of Banking, Financial Systems, and Monetary Policy. The foundation course and advanced study course provides students with knowledge and methods in the fields of Macroeconomics, Banking Management, and Central Banking Management, Law and Civics, Financial Mathematics, Accounting and Statistics, as well as General Business Administration and Banking Management. Subsequently, in the in-depth study parts, students can specialize in the following three areas: “Supervisory and financial stability functions“, “Bank operational functions“, and “Interdisciplinary functions“. The University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank accomodates more than 300 students.
