Description
The focus of Economics programs is understanding how companies work and develop, as well as the production and distribution of goods and services. During the course, students are taught subjects such as basic economic principles, micro- and macroeconomics, public finance, mathematics, economic policy and more. Courses have both a theoretical and practical aspect, so students can obtain analytical, critical-thinking, mathematical, writing, research and problem-solving skills, as well as communication skills, and learn handling complex data and drawing conclusions from their findings. Economics programs can usually be combined with minor subjects, like Mathematics, Law, Business Administration, Political Science, Philosophy or Psychology for example. Attending seminars to deepen the knowledge and learn new presentation techniques and perspectives is also encouraged. An Economics degree serves as an excellent stepping stone for various graduate programs either further in Economics, or Business, Law or Public Policy. Employment rates for Economics graduates are very high and they can pursue careers in diverse fields, such as economic consultancy, market research, financial advising, credit analytics, statistics, sales, financial examining, accountancy and business journalism, among many others. Graduates are prepared to analyze and solve various economic issues or researching trends in international organizations and research firms.
